The Bunny Trail Rabbit Rescue
Our Adoption Center
Our adoption center is located within The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel, CA in Suite D12. We are in the barns facing the entrance of Carmel Barre, and next door to Hedi's Shoes.
We are Open to the Public
Saturday and Sunday 10a - 3p
Our adoption center is open to the public for visits to see our bunnies and to learn more about our adoption center, our rescue efforts, and opportunities to adopt, foster, or volunteer.

During public hours, we do not open the kennel doors or allow visitors to touch or hold the bunnies. This is a safety precaution for both the public and the bunnies. Bunnies are easily stressed, so to ensure they feel safe in their own space, we do not permit handling by the public.
We do have Rules for our Burrow:
Welcome to our "Burrow," a special sanctuary for our beloved bunnies! We appreciate your visit and ask that you take a moment to understand the importance of respecting our furry friends and their home. This space is designed for their comfort and safety, and by following our guidelines, you can help create a positive environment where the bunnies feel relaxed enough to share their playful personalities and display their tricks and toys. Please note that if they sense stress or discomfort, they may choose to retreat and hide, which is completely natural behavior for them.
Before you enter, please keep the following important guidelines in mind:

1. **Accompanied Minors**: If you are under the age of 13, you must be accompanied by an adult. This ensures that both you and the bunnies have a safe and enjoyable experience.

2. **Hands Off the Kennels**: It's important to avoid placing your hands or fingers inside the kennels. Our bunnies sometimes have difficulty distinguishing between treats and fingers, and this confusion could lead to unintentional nibbles or bites. To keep everyone safe, please observe them from outside the kennels.

3. **Volume Control**: We kindly ask that you keep your voices low while in the Burrow. Bunnies have very sensitive hearing, and loud noises or sudden sounds can startle them, leading to stress or anxiety. A calm atmosphere is key to helping them feel secure.

4. **Do Not Open Kennels**: Please refrain from opening any of the kennels. New and unfamiliar humans can frighten the bunnies, causing them to feel threatened. This may lead them to hide or try to protect themselves. It's crucial that we respect their boundaries so they can feel safe in their environment.

We are a non-profit organization completely funded by public donations. Your generous contributions play a vital role in supporting our rescue efforts. These funds help us provide necessary care such as spaying and neutering, purchasing food and supplies, and covering other essential operating costs for our adoption center. Your support truly makes a difference in the lives of the bunnies we care for, and we thank you for helping us on this important mission!
If you are wanting to have hands on experience with our bunnies...
If you’re interested in hands-on experience with our bunnies, we have volunteer opportunities available for all ages. You can find these opportunities on our "Volunteers" page.

If you are considering adoption, volunteering beforehand can help you learn about the care and personalities of our bunnies. During adoption appointments, we take the time to review your application to ensure we find the best fit for your expectations and family dynamics. We will select a few bunnies that match your criteria and allow your entire family to meet them.
